Your zircon picture attributed to John Sobolewski is not zircon but a magnetite/martite pseudocrystal. These were described from the Mud Tank carbonatite by Brian England in The Australian Mineralogist April 1979 issue pages 144- 146. The pseudocrystal form arises from ilmenite plates within the original magnetite. The best forms of these pseudocrystals are trigonal forms unlike the prismatic form shown in your photograph.The Mud Tank zircon is never black. It is usually a dark brown as seen in many museum specimens.
