What is lit-par-lit injection ? The injection of fluid or molten material, mostly granitic, along bedding, cleavage or schistosity planes in a rock. The product is an alternation of apparently igneous and non-igneous material, known as a migmatite. Some of the rocks previously considered to have been formed by the process are now thought to be the products of partial melting, the igneous layers representing the fraction of the rock which became liquid.
