Kalkgrube Lieth

Kalkgrube Lieth, Blick in östlicher Richtung. Die rötliche Wand links ist ein Aufschluss gipshaltiger Tone im Rotliegenden. Am Boden des alten Steinbruchs ist rechts der Mitte ein Teil des Gipshuts des Salzstocks aus zu Gips alteriertem Anhydrit zu sehen. Die gegenüberliegenden Wände bestehen im wesentlichen aus steilgestellten Kalken, Mergeln, Sandsteinen und Ton-Schiefern des Zechsteins, die durch das Salz aus ca. 8000m Tiefe herausgehoben wurden.
