Die Sedimente des Latham Shale, zugehörig zum unteren Kambrium, aufgeschlossen in den Marble Mountains in der Mojave Wüste von Kalifornien, sind die Heimat dieser beiden Trilobiten, des Olenellus fremonti (Mesonacis fremonti) und des Olenellus nevadensis.
