Journey Description

Der Fuß des Berges kann in 10 Min. vom Stadtzentrum von Potosi mit dem Taxi erreicht werden. Um die höheren Teile des Berges zu erreichen, ist ein geländegängiges WD erforderlich, oder suche nach einer Mitfahrgelegenheit bei den Minenfahrzeugen..

Halden, aktive Untertage-Minen und offene alte Stollen.

Geology

Polymetallische Ganglagerstätte: die größte Ag-Lagerstätte der Erde. Resourcen von 540 Mio. t Erz mit 120ppm Ag und 0,10-0,17% Sn (=540.000-918.000 t Sn-Inhalt).

Entrance Restrictions

Keine Einschränkungen beim Sammeln auf den Halden, die auf fast allen Berghängen zu finden sind. Man sollte aber den armen Bergleuten ein paar Dollars geben, wenn man von ihren Erzhaufen ein paar Mineralien gesammelt hat. Mehrere Touristen-Agenturen in der Stadt Potosi organisieren täglich Untertage-Touren. Unabhängiges Untertage-Sammeln benötigt eine Genehmigung von den jeweiligen Kooperativen. Am ehesten erhält man eine Bewilligung von den kleineren und primitiveren Abbauen.
