Detailed Description

Die Lagerstätte Dikuluwe ist die westlichst gelegene des gesamten Kupfergürtels von Shaba. 1975 in Betrieb genommen, wurde ein silikatreicher Bereich im Norden angeschnitten. Mineralien waren Chrysokoll und Malachit; letzterer massiv gebändert, stalaktitisch oder auch in Kristallen. Die Bänder erreichen 20 cm Dicke, die Stalaktiten waren groß und manchmal schwarz oxidiert. Sprengungen sollen aufgrund grüner Staubwolken spektakulär und sehenswürdig gewesen sein.

Cupritkristalle in cm-Größe wurden 1980 im mittleren Teil der Lagerstätte gefunden.
