Mineralientage München 2014 „The Munich Show“
(24 October to 26 October 2014)

A comment and Fair report from Stefan
One year after the golden 50th anniversary, we were curious how the show will present this year. As might be expected, the specials are not turned out quite as opulently. The theme meteorite "gifts of Heaven" was presented with much information. In the fossil part, a T-Rex "KING KONG" has drawn the eyes on him.
The flow of visitors was difficult to estimate and is likely the same as on the previous year. The exhibition management has made much promotion and this seems to have borne fruit. Sunday was very well attended. Sporadic consulted merchants were satisfied or very satisfied with the sales made up.
A little bit I missed the fullness of healing stone suppliers who were previously clearly encountered over the years. Were they always a reason to amused shake one's head at so much naivety of customers. Whether this is due to more stringent regulations of show management or other reasons, I can not judge. In sum, it became apparent that something has changed positively.
Special meteorites, "Gifts of Heaven"
The special meteorite was spread over 2 buildings. Many reputable meteorites could be admired on-site. Numerous illustrated text panels mediated background knowledge. In addition to the meteorite itself also found objects from meteorite metal, which were made in ancient times. Although the gold exhibition last year had certainly more attention, the subject was well presented and if you took the time to read the information boards also very informative and exciting.
Fossilien "T-REX"
The exhibition management has brought this year's first original T-REX to Munich. So young and old could measure up to the oversized lizard.
After my subjective impression "fossil" seems otherwise to decline further. Partially were found booth with recent shells instead, which was less encouraging.
Collector Showcases
Like every year, our collectors and clubs were presented with their display cases on the "Munich Show". The not agreed focus was seemingly agate. Usually the showcases were very informative and worth seeing, even if I liked them a little more in the last year. They were definitely well worth a visit. To gleaning here are some of the loveingly presented displays.
Mineralogical instruments
With new tools, the exhibition has seamlessly followed "Knowledge is gold" of the successful previous year. The historical instruments, made of brass and other metals are always "eye-catcher" and also technical feats that have not lost any functionality and fascinated me again.
Alpine
Alpine was represented this year with lots of great Minerals. For sale were numerous crystals which unfortunately also had its price in top quality. The special exhibition showed many interesting exhibits.
Minerals
Blue Fluorite from Inner Mongolia (Huanggang) in China could be found as a new find on some booth. It was rumored that might irradiation were added. A dream like dreamlike cassiterite from the Viloco mine in Bolivia was at 80,000 €. Admittedly a magnificent piece like this was probably not yet on the market. I wish I had cleared a space for it, but this broke my budget.
Otherwise, also this year some pieces has been "pimped" with oil. Even tinkered geodes in all colors have probably found the one or other buyer. Skulls of quartz were found at many booths and dildos from the very same material should probably spend "positive energy" even in hard to reach places.
Who took time could certainly acquire the one or other cheap mineral. Immaculate top pieces have one's price, unfortunately almost anywhere. All in all, the market appears to be stable. The Chinese seem to be represented somewhat weaker, which is probably due to the booming domestic market.
Our friends from Munich Micromountern were extremely well attended this year. The concept minerals at a fair price seems to work more than ever.
Children's attractions
