Geology

Die Mine liegt in einer Caldera. Sie ist eine nieder-sulfidische epithermale Gold-Gang-LS assoziiert mit einem Alkali-Typ Eruptivgestein. Bekannt als Quelle von gediegenem Gold und Tellur seit 1868. Sie hat schöne Stufen von kristallisiertem Gold, Sylvanit, Krennerit und elementarem Tellur geliefert.

Gold und Silber. Quarz Stockwerk in Olivin-Basalt und Trachy-Basalt.

Es gab/gibt in der Nähe mehrere Minen, wovon die Emperor die bedeutendste ist. Sie erzeugten 10 Mio. Unzen Gold von 1935 bis 2005. 2006 geschlossen; 2007 wiedereröffnet.
