Detailed description

Ankylosaurus war ein oberkreidezeitlicher Herbivore, seine Fossilien sind aus Nordamerika (Canada & USA) bekannt.
Er ist Namensgeber und gleichzeitig einer der größten und jüngsten Vertreter der Ankylosauria. Ankylosaurus erreichte eine Länge von 8 - 9 m und ein geschätztes Gewicht von etwa 3,5 Tonnen. Wie alle Ankylosaurier war er quadruped.
Populär wurde das Tier v.a. durch seine ausgeprägte Panzerung und die "Schwanzkeule".
