Detailed description

Die Dicranophyllales sind eine Gruppe spätpaläozoischer Gymnospermen, deren Verwandschaftsverhältnisse (? frühe Coniferophyta) noch nicht sicher geklärt sind. Sie besitzen Nadel-förmige Blätter mit einer ausgeprägt polsterförmigen Basis, ihre Blütenzapfen sitzen einhäusig und cauliflor an den Achsen.
