Detailed description
Die Klasse der Knochenfische gibt es nachweislich schon seit dem Zeitalter des Devon. Vielleicht gab es die Knochenfische auch schon vorher. Das wichtigste Merkmal der Knochenfische ist das knöcherne Skelett. Im Gegensatz zu den Knorpelfischen (Chondrichthyes) weisen die Knochenfische nur eine Kiemenspalte auf, die auch meist verknöchert ist und besitzen meistens eine Schwimmblase. |
