Detailed description

Bezüglich der taxonomischen Einordnung der unterschiedlichen Rudisten-Gruppen gibt es derzeit noch starke Auffassungsunterschiede. Eine alternative Gliederung fasst die unterschiedlichen Familien (Hippuritidae, Radiolitidae, etc.) in der Überfamilie der Hippuritoidea anstatt in der Überfamilie Radiolitoidea zusammen.
