Zu den Protisten zählen einzellige Protozoen (Rizopoden, Cilien, Flagellaten, Amöeben, Radiolaren), mehrzellige Algen (Tange, Flechten, Diatomeen), Schleimpilze (Myxomyceten) und Eipilze (Oomyceten).
