Detailed description

Als Holometabole Insekten werden alle Insekten zusammengefasst, die in ihrer Entwicklung eine vollständige Metamorphose von einer Larve über eine Puppe zum ausgewachsenen Insekt (Imago) durchmachen, welche keinerlei Ähnlichkeit besitzen sowie häufig eine unterschiedliche Lebensweise haben. Sie umfassen über drei Viertel aller bekannten Insekten.
