Elba mißt von O nach W 27,5 km (Capo Ortano - Sedia di Napoleone), von N nach S max. 18,5 km (Capo Vita - Punta della Calamita). Die Fläche beträgt 223 km2. Der Küstenumfang beträgt 147 km.
