Detailed Description

Geologie und Lagerstätte

Kuppel eines teilweise erodierten silurischen Plutons von ca. 30 km Durchmesser. Leukogranite, Aplite sowie Protolithionit-Albit-Topas führende Granite mit quarzerz-führenden Quarzgreisen. Pneumatolytische W-Mo-Be-Lagerstätte, erschlossen seit 1944 (eine der größten Lagerstätten dieser Art in der ehem. USSR). Das Vorkommen ist geologisch und mineralogisch mit Kara Oba und bedingt mit Kounrad vergleichbar.

Die Erze treten im Glavny-Massiv (Alaskite) und im SE des Aktchatau im sogen. Topar-Komplex (Biotit-Amphibol-Granite) auf. Die wirtschaftlich bedeutendsten der abgebauten Mineralien sind: Wolframit, Molybdänit, Beryll, Fluorit, Pyrit, Kalifeldspat.

Teil von Akchatau ist die Pb-Cu-Lagerstätte Tulagai, in der vor allem Galenit abgebaut wurde.

Mineralien

Es kommen über 90 verschiedene Mineralien, tw. in guter Ausbildung vor. Die größten und sammelwürdigsten Mineralien sind Wolframit, Topas (hell- bis bläulichgrüne Kristalle bis 15 mm), Fluorit in schwarzgrünen bis schwarzvioletten Oktaedern bis 8 cm Kantenlänge auf Quarz (kein Stinkspat!), oft mit blassblauem Apatit und Bertranditkristallen vergesellschaftet; auch violette und rosafarbene Fluoritoktaeder, tw. mit einer 2. Generation von auf den Oktaederecken aufsitzenden Hexakisoktaedern. Desweiteren in schönen Kristallen: Pyrit, Monazit-(Ce), Quarz, Hämatit, Bertrandit, Markasit, Zirkon und REE-Mineralien.
