Mikroklin Microcline crystals with minor quartz in a tiny (1.2cm) miarolytic cavity in the Omoto Granite Formation. Not visible in the photo, but many of the microcline crystal faces are coated with a colorless crust of epitaxial albite. Miarolytic cavities in this mountain range can reach at least 15cm size, but the cavity contents have often been destroyed by subtropical weathering unless one has the good luck to find a fresh exposure in a construction site, or in a landslide right after one of the numerous typhoons.
