Dunkelgrün (kupferhaltig = Cu-Adamin), hellblau (aluminiumhaltig = Al-Adamin), violett (manganhaltig = Mn-Adamin), rosa (kobalthaltig = Co-Adamin), hellgrün (nickelhaltig = Ni-Adamin) Streak color: weiß Lustre: Glasglanz Diaphaneity (Transparency): teilweise transparent Danger of confusion: Verwechselungsgefahr mit Austinit. Adamin kann mit Olivenit Mischkristalle bilden. Durch Kupfer grün eingefärbter Adamin kann eventuell mit prismatischem Olivenit und mit den Mischkristallen verwechselt werden. Distinction: Adamin ist im Gegensatz zu Olivenit nicht in Ammoniak löslich. Er besitzt eine gute Spaltbarkeit, während die Spaltbarkeit von Olivenit undeutlich ist. Adamin lässt sich von seinen Mischkristallen mit Olivenit nur durch eine chemische Analyse und / oder röntgenografisch unterscheiden.
