Name from

Maghrebite ist benannt nach der Region "Maghreb" in Nordafrika. Das Wort "Maghreb" ist von dem arabischen "Al-Maghrib" abgeleitet und bedeutet "Bereich, wo die Sonne untergeht" und beschreibt ursprünglich den Bereich zwischen den hohen Regionen des Atlas-Gebirges im Süden und dem Mittelmeer. Heute wird der Begriff in der Regel verwendet um gemeinsam die afrikanischen Länder Marokko, Algerien, Tunesien, Libyen und Mauretanien einzubeziehen.
