Name from

Das Mineral ist nach Antonio Rossi (1942-2011), Professor für Sediment Petrologie in Modena und Reggio Emilia University und einem frühen Entwickler von wissenschaftlicher Höhlenkunde in Italien benannt. In Anerkennung seiner konstanten und wertvollen Bemühungen um die Untersuchung von Mineralien und vor allem, von Höhlen Mineralien, gewidmet.
