Additional Information

Nach dem Entdecker, F.L.D. Ekanayake, Colombo benannt. Die recht hohe Radioaktivität beruht auf dem Th-Gehalt. Aufgrund der Zerstörung des Kristallgitters durch die Alpha-Strahlung wird Ekanit im Laufe der Zeit zersetzt.
