Dieses Mineral wurde ursprünglich als Natrium-Ferripedrizit durch Oberti et.al. (2000) und Ferripedrizite (IMA Nr. 2001-032) von Caballero et.al (2002) beschrieben. Es wurde zu Natrium-Ferripedrizite in der Version 2003 der Amphibol Nomenklatur umbenannt. Es wurde anschließend wieder auf Ferri-Pedrizite in der 2012 Amphibol Nomenklatur umbenannt.
