Name from

Das Mineral trug zuerst den Namen Kornit nach Hermann Korn, geboren 1946, Deutscher Geologe. Kornite wurde als Name 2012 in Folge der Amphibol-Nomenklatur diskreditiert und umbenannt in Potassic-mangani-leakeite.
