Pumpellyite-(Mn2+) A mosaic of different colored bands indicate a chemically complex paragenesis for these sprays of pumpellyite. Rims of green pumpellyite-(Fe2+) surround a white Mg-rich band, followed by at least three light to dark brown Mn-rich bands at the core; Field of view: 1.5 mm; Manganese Mine, Copper Harbor, Keweenaw Co., Michigan, USA Copyright: Travis Olds; Beitrag: Stefan Fundort: USA/Michigan/Keweenaw Peninsula/Keweenaw Co./Copper Harbor/Manganese Mine Mineral: Pumpellyit-(Fe2+), Pumpellyit-(Mn2+) Bild: 1475010589 Lizenz: Nur zur Mineralienatlas-Projekt-Verwendung |

Pumpellyite-(Mn2+) A recent (2013) find of radiating aggregates of pumpellyite that display elaborate color banding. A green iron rich rim transitions into a dark brown manganese rich core of pumpellyite-Mn(II). It is a new report for the state of Michigan and represents an interesting color variant of the state's gemstone. Collected by Shawn M. Carlson; Manganese Mine, Copper Harbor, Keweenaw Co., Michigan, USA Copyright: Travis Olds; Beitrag: Stefan Fundort: USA/Michigan/Keweenaw Peninsula/Keweenaw Co./Copper Harbor/Manganese Mine Mineral: Pumpellyit-(Mn2+) Bild: 1475011086 Lizenz: Nur zur Mineralienatlas-Projekt-Verwendung |
