In Bezug auf Bodenschätze ist Nordkorea einer der reicheren Staaten Asiens. Es gibt Kohle, Eisenerz, Wolfram, Magnesit und Graphit. Außerdem sind Gold, Silber, Kupfer, Blei, Zink und Molybdän zu finden. Neueren Berichten nach sollen in Nordkorea (Jongju) riesige Mengen an Seltenen Erden (SEE) im Boden liegen; man schätzt die 6-fache Menge des schon riesigen Vorrats von China!!!
