O Slowakei an der Grenze zur Ukraine. Genauer FO ist der Stratovulkan Morske Oko.

Geology

Mineralisation ist an stark hydrothermal umgewandelte tert. Vulkane (Andesite, Pyroklastite) des Stratovulkans Porubsky Potok gebunden. Durch hydrothermale Umwandlung tritt großflächig Kaolinisierung, Argillitisierung und Silifizierung der Gesteine auf, wobei sich sek. Quarzite bilden. Sie bilden einen 160 x 120 m großen Körper, der von zahlreichen kleinen Trümern mit Karbonaten, Opalen und Quarzen durchsetzt ist. An diese Trümer ist eine feinverteilte sulfidische Mineralisation gebunden. Neben Pyrit, Markasit, Ilmenit, Hämatit und Magnetit treten dort vor allem Aggregate verschiedener Bi-Te-Se-S-Mineralien auf.

Das Vorkommen wurde während der in der 2.Hälfte des 20.Jhd. durchgeführten Prospektionsarbeiten entdeckt. Außer den bei diesen Arbeiten angelegten Grubenbauen sind keine weiteren Bergbautätigkeiten bekannt.

Die Fundstelle ist Typ-Lokalität für die Mineralien Telluronevskit und Vihorlatit. Beide bilden kleine met. Blättchen und körnige Aggregate bis 5 mm. Eine sichere Unterscheidung ist nur analytisch möglich, allerdings kann man sagen, daß Telluronevskit mehr blättrig, molybdänitähnlich ist und stärkeren Glanz aufweist.
