Die Karte zeigt den Uravan Mineral Belt, in dem durch eine geologische Besonderheit Uran- und Vanadium-Vererzung im Kontext mit inkohlten Pflanzenresten konzentriert und abbauwürdig auftreten. Dieser Bereich überdeckt kleine Teile im Grand Co. Utah, und reicht in Colorado vom Mesa Co über das Montrose Co bis in das San Miguel Co je nach Definition auch noch in das Dolores Co und wieder hinein nach Utah, San Juan Co; Gemäß Chentoweh 1981 läßt sich der Uravan Mineral Belt in folgende großräumige Mining Districts unterteilen (von N nach S):; Gateway (Mesa Co und Grand Co), Uravan (Montrose Co und evtl kleine Teile im südl. Mesa Co), Bull Canyon (Montrose Co), Gypsum Valley (Montrose Co und San Miguel Co), Slick Rock (San Miguel und im Süden kleine Teile in San Juan Co, Utah, sowie im Norden kleine Bereiche im Montrose Co).
