Journey Description

Man fährt von Salt Lake City immer N auf der 15 bis Idaho Falls. (gut 350 km). Dann biegt man auf die 26/31 und fährt ca. 75 km O bis Jackson. Hier gehts wieder N auf der 26, dann der 191 (150 km). Man ist am Ziel. Ab Idaho Falls ist die Straße gut ausgeschildert.

Nationalpark mit unterschiedlichen Geologischen Formationen/ Vulkanismus.

Detailed Description

1967 und 1968 wurden im Park 13 Bohrungen niedergebracht, um genauere physikalische und chemische Daten über heiße Quellen und Geysire zu erhalten, Untersuchungen der Bohrkerne. Daraus resultierten Funde einer Reihe von Zeolithen.

Klinoferrosilit hat hier die Typ-Lokalität. Es wurde gefunden im Obsidian des Obsidian Cliff.
