Hello all,
I´ve been working back and forth since the end of –80ies with the he School of Mines collection in Luleå(Sweden).
As always with old collections there are problems - such as lacking labels (or wrong labels) but also some interesting things. Would be interested to hearwhat you have to say about the following:
On one of the labels here in Lulea (Bergs-1954) the text read as; ” Weisser Speis-Kobalt v. Aufgeklärtes Glück bei Hasserode.a d Dittrschen Auction. Gesch.”
In my reprint of Conrad Blömeke; Ûber die Erzlagerstätten des Harzes on page 80 it is written ”früher Bergschreiber von Buchenberg bei Wernigerode, Namens Ditterich”.. Could it be the same person?
Do you know when he lived or who does?
In Luleå we have at least 5 more specimens with the same handwriting as this label, and I guess there are maybe 35-40 specimens. I know that the above-mentioned specimen belonged to the most well-known Swedish Mineral dealer; Wilhelm Anderberg which died in 1871. WA was a student in Freiberg in… autumn –-54.
I am fully sure that you know about the article by Gunther Grundmann , many years ago in Lapis where he wrote about a similar “Niederlage” in Andreasberg as in Freiberg. According to him there is a book which makes one able to trace every sold specimen; the price & which location. (as I get it).
In the collection here there are a small number, perhaps 20 with these labels. Thus I am interested to know what really is written in those files. Perhaps who bought them as well?
I have published one picture of a nice little Andreasberger Fluorite on the mindat.org
(
http://www.mindat.org/piclist.php?u=7366) and that carries such a label! The following no occur; 62/63 713 on this specimen.
Do you have access to these files, and may I consult you regarding the contents in the future?
Best regards& Glückauf
