Rosia Mon­ta­na (Veres­pa­tak), Ro­ma­niaThe village and the mine with the same name "Rosia Montana" are located approximately 85 km north of the city of Deva. The mine complex extends over 21.2 square kilometers and is one of the largest gold deposits in Europe. The tunnel system in the underground is several hundred kilometers long and was used until a few years ago. Already in Roman times the tunnels had a length of 145 km.

Perl­proben... Man glüht in der rauschenden Flamme eines Bunsenbrenners ein Magnesiastäbchen bis zur Rotglut aus. Mit dem heißen Magnesiastäbchen wird eine kleine Menge Borax oder Phosphorsalz aufgenommen und vorsichtig in die Brennerflamme gebracht. Unter ständigen Drehen wird das Salz so lange in der Brennerflamme gedreht, bis eine klare Perle entstanden ist. The "Eisen­ham­mer" (iron ham­mer) to He­im­buchen­thal The former "Eisenhammer" (iron hammer) to Heimbuchenthal has to show a very interesting history. The hammer mill established at the beginning of the 18th century reached at the end of the 18th century in the possession of the family Rexroth under whose guidance the company came to the full blossom. The squires showed a high social engagement which was reflected in the reimbursement of the workers, but also in the enlargement of the entrance ways. In specially constructed schools up to 30 children were teaches on the hammer mill property. On one, from oaks surrounded cemetery the late squires and their members were buried. In 1891 the company was discontinued and the hammer mill was converted into a court estate. From the industrial monument all buildings except the great smithy are even today in a very good state.

TwinsThe study of twins starts due to the very first beginnings of crystallography as a science. Not negligible for this reason, the idea or the concept of a twin crystal are often associated with a macroscopic building. Modern studies at the nano scale have shown that the formation of twins can occur at a very early stage of crystal growing. Based on these findings, it does beg the request to reconsider the formation mechanisms, and adjacency to the newly different categories. (Text in german)

Bad Freien­walde - Ton­grubenDiese Lokalität ist nach Rüdersdorf wohl der ergiebigste Fundort in Brandenburg. Wobei die Anzahl der Mineralarten die von Rüdersdorf sogar noch übersteigen dürfte. Im Gegensatz zu Rüdersdorf kann man hier auch noch frei sammeln und Funde sind im Prinzip garantiert. Die Tongruben liegen in der Nähe der Bundesstraße 167 westlich von Bad Freienwalde und sind von Berlin aus einfach zu erreichen. Wie schon anklingt, gibt es zwei Tongruben. Die Nordgrube baut noch und wird immer größer. Sie ist, wenn man aus dem Oderbruch kommt, schon von weitem als heller Fleck in den dunklen bewaldeten Hügelketten um Bad Freienwalde zu erkennen. Die zweite Grube liegt wenig entfernt im Hammerthal. Man fahre die Straße "Im Hammerthal" von der B167 ab und bis zum Ende durch. Man gelangt zu einem kleinen Parkplatz und wandere an der Jugendherberge vorbei in den Wald. Linkerhand läuft ein Zaun entlang, an dessen Ende man sich durch sumpfiges Gelände über einen kleinen Bach hinweg kämpfen muss. Nach einiger Zeit taucht die große Wand der alten Südgrube auf. Bei feuchter Witterung ist absolute Vorsicht geboten. Der Verfasser hat selbst schon mehrmals fast das Schuhwerk eingebüßt, der zähe Ton ist nicht zu unterschätzen.
