Dev­il's Pul­pitActually, this is a picturesque place in a well-kept forest. Nevertheless, in the past, evil itself is said to have preached to the damned here from a large, solitary, towering rock spur. Today, the term Devil's Pulpit inspires one to play with associations, as do the drawings of agates found here. Their fantastic outlines, coupled with the unusual shape of the secondary rock, evoke images in the viewer that he would not have suspected in a stone. And on the devil's pulpit no longer an evil demon is waiting for the agate collector, but other executive powers threatening with purgatory... a contribution by Klaus Schäfer and others (in german)

Chessy-les-MinesUnter den klassischen Fundstellen für Azurit nimmt die Kupfererzlagerstätte Chessy-les-Mines nordwestlich von Lyon eine hohen Stellenwert ein. Diese Azurite sind unter Sammlern als "Chessylith" bekannt. Erst seit einigen Jahren kommen aus China Stufen auf den Sammlermarkt, die an die Stücke aus Chessy in etwa heranreichen. Chessy-Azurite besitzen bei Sammlern einen mindestens ebenso hohen Stellenwert wie Stücke aus Tsumeb, sind aber seltener und, in guter Qualität, unbezahlbar geworden. Funde werden, in bescheidenem Ausmaß, noch in den alten Halden getätigt. Die Größe der heute noch zu findenden Stücke haben in etwa den Durchmesser von Haselnüssen. Die Halden befinden sich in Privatbesitz und die Suche ist auf einen französischen Sammlerkreis begrenzt. Selten tauchen auf Börsen kleinere Stücke auf und Besitzer von Chessylithen trennen sich ...

Pet­ri­fied For­est Na­tio­n­al ParkThe Petrified Forest is primarily a geological park, which owes its origin to the climate and geological events. It is part of the so-called Painted Desert and shows with its various layers a strange and impressive scenery. Characterized by erosion, it is a treasure trove of fossils. The rock formations show a chronicle of the past and give clues about the events of bygone days. In the park you can exposure rock strata until 234 million years ago. The colorful desert hills, the flat mesas and shaped hills attributable primarily to Chinle Formation and are fluvial sediments, caused by water movement. Countless fossilized wood and tree trunks bear witness to a scrumptious earlier fauna.

Grube Ro­land... Die Lagerung ist sehr gestört und uneinheitlich. Der Hauptgang ist vom Schacht nach Westen zu gespalten in zwei Parallelgänge, den nördlichen "Arnold-Gang" und den südlichen "Glückauf-Gang", nach circa 200 m treffen sich beide Gänge in einer Scharungszone (Trümmerzone) wieder. Auf der 52 m Sohle wird nach Osten hin ein 3 bis 4 m breiter Gang erwähnt. Die Gangfüllung, soweit man noch im eigentlichen Sinne von einem regelmäßigen Gang sprechen kann, ist so angeordnet, daß in einem verkitteten Haufwerk von +/- veränderten Graniteinschlüssen (z.T. weiss gebleicht in Salbandregion - kaolinisiert - oder grünlich verschmiert - nontronitisiert -) der Stinkspat in +/- großen Adern, Zonen und Häufungen angereichert ... Grube Cä­cilia im Wölsen­dor­fer Re­vi­er1936 erwirbt die Firma "Saline Ludwigshalle AG", Bad Wimpfen, die Grube Kallmünzer. Daraufhin wurde der Firmenname ( Besitzer) in "Flußspatwerk Schwarzenfeld GmbH, vorm. Anton Kallmünzer" geändert. Die Flußspatgrube wird von nun an Grube Cäcilia, teils auch Grube Cäcilie, genannt. Anton Kallmünzer bleibt Teilhaber und Geschäftsführer.
Schacht Cäcilia II ist mit 86 m Teufe Hauptförderschacht. Der Schacht Marie, ehemals zu Grube Freiung II zugehörig und der Reichhart-Schacht, ehemals Grube Freiung I, werden als Wetterschächte genutzt. Im gleichen Jahr erwirbt die Firma auch das Ausbeuterecht ... Ein Beitrag von Michael Kommer
