Kies­grube Oh­le & Lau in Groß Pam­pau... Forschungsbohrungen (1988, Groß Pampau I & II) ergaben, dass ab ca. 7 m Tiefe der Tonschichten das mittlere Langenfeldium, ab ca. 19 m das untere Langenfeldium und ab ca. 29 m das obere Reinbekium beginnnt. Während des Hauptabbaus (Seeseite) in Groß Pampau waren ca. 17 m der Glimmertonschichten mehr oder weniger zugänglich, als Ton für die Deponieabdeckung abgebaut wurde. Anhand der aufgelesenen Fossilien (mehr als 150 Arten konnten gefunden werden) und dem Vergleich dieser Arten mit heute noch in gemäßigteren Regionen lebenden Vertretern (und deren Lebensbedingungen), geht man von einer damals durchschnittlichen Wassertiefe von 50 - 80 m aus. ...

The "Eisen­ham­mer" (iron ham­mer) to He­im­buchen­thal The former "Eisenhammer" (iron hammer) to Heimbuchenthal has to show a very interesting history. The hammer mill established at the beginning of the 18th century reached at the end of the 18th century in the possession of the family Rexroth under whose guidance the company came to the full blossom. The squires showed a high social engagement which was reflected in the reimbursement of the workers, but also in the enlargement of the entrance ways. In specially constructed schools up to 30 children were teaches on the hammer mill property. On one, from oaks surrounded cemetery the late squires and their members were buried. In 1891 the company was discontinued and the hammer mill was converted into a court estate. From the industrial monument all buildings except the great smithy are even today in a very good state.

Pet­ri­fied For­est Na­tio­n­al ParkThe Petrified Forest is primarily a geological park, which owes its origin to the climate and geological events. It is part of the so-called Painted Desert and shows with its various layers a strange and impressive scenery. Characterized by erosion, it is a treasure trove of fossils. The rock formations show a chronicle of the past and give clues about the events of bygone days. In the park you can exposure rock strata until 234 million years ago. The colorful desert hills, the flat mesas and shaped hills attributable primarily to Chinle Formation and are fluvial sediments, caused by water movement. Countless fossilized wood and tree trunks bear witness to a scrumptious earlier fauna.

The Mu­nich Show 2025The Mineralientage München 2025 – The Munich Show once again showcased a fascinating variety of minerals, fossils, and jewelry. Although visitor numbers appeared slightly lower than last year, the fair remained vibrant and diverse. Highlights included the collector displays and the special exhibition on natural resources, while the fossil section was somewhat smaller.
Some visitors expressed a wish for more seating areas, opportunities for exchange, and more eye-catching advertising, yet overall the event left a very positive impression and remains a must-visit for collectors and families alike.

...Makrokristalliner Quarz ist nicht nur ein wichtiger, sondern primärer Bestandteil vieler Gesteine, weil er entweder bei der Bildung des Gesteins schon vorhanden war oder sich zusammen mit den anderen Mineralen entwickelte. Gut ausgebildete Quarzkristalle sind gewöhnlich ein sekundäres Produkt und können selbst in Gesteinen auftreten, welche ursprünglich Kieselsäure-frei waren, wie viele Basalte.
