We operate a significant database for minerals, fossils, rocks and their localities. Mineralienatlas is not limited to a section. We bring together information and inform comprehensive.

Das Na­tur­wis­sen­schaftliche Mu­se­um Schön­born­er Hof Aschaf­fen­burgIm alten Bau des Schönborner Hofes befindet sich das Naturwissenschaftliche Museum der Stadt Aschaffenburg. Das bereits 1970 eingerichtete Museum zeigt neben einer rund 300 Exemplaren umfassenden ornithologischen Sammlung auch eine sehr sehenswerte und umfangreiche entomologische Sammlung (Insektensammlung). Die im Museum gezeigte Wanzensammlung gilt als eine der größten in Europa. Daneben befindet sich im Museum eine Mineraliensammlung, die einen Eindruck in den früheren Kupferabbau im Spessart gibt.

The Mu­nich Show 2025The Mineralientage München 2025 – The Munich Show once again showcased a fascinating variety of minerals, fossils, and jewelry. Although visitor numbers appeared slightly lower than last year, the fair remained vibrant and diverse. Highlights included the collector displays and the special exhibition on natural resources, while the fossil section was somewhat smaller.
Some visitors expressed a wish for more seating areas, opportunities for exchange, and more eye-catching advertising, yet overall the event left a very positive impression and remains a must-visit for collectors and families alike.

Konkre­tio­nen und Knollen ... Konkretionen wurden in den vergangenen Jahrhunderten oft als geologische Kuriositäten betrachtet. Aufgrund der Vielzahl ungewöhnlicher Formen, Größen und Zusammensetzungen wurden sie als Dinosaurier-Eier, Tier- oder Pflanzenfossilien (sogen. Pseudofossilien), extraterrestrischer Abfall oder selbst als vom Menschen erzeugte Artefakte interpretiert. Peter Seroka has addressed the issue in several years of work and has written an up-to-date geological summary. He dedicated his work to the 15 th anniversary of Mineralienatlas. The work gives detailed information regarding the origin of deposits, the different types of deposits and their classification. Examples of economically important deposits complete the chapters. Dev­il's Pul­pitActually, this is a picturesque place in a well-kept forest. Nevertheless, in the past, evil itself is said to have preached to the damned here from a large, solitary, towering rock spur. Today, the term Devil's Pulpit inspires one to play with associations, as do the drawings of agates found here. Their fantastic outlines, coupled with the unusual shape of the secondary rock, evoke images in the viewer that he would not have suspected in a stone. And on the devil's pulpit no longer an evil demon is waiting for the agate collector, but other executive powers threatening with purgatory... a contribution by Klaus Schäfer and others (in german)

Stack­ing­s­teuerung für Makroauf­nah­men - Selb­st­bauan­lei­tungGute Makroaufnahmen von winzigen Mineralien lassen sich meist nur über digitale Mehrebenenfotografie erreichen. Mehrere Bilder werden übereinander gelegt und die besten Stellen aus den Bildern zusammen gerechnet. Hierzu wird ein Bilderstabel (Stack) in unterschiedlichen, winzigen Abständen vom Objekt (Mineral) aufgenommen. Da es sehr schwierig und zeitaufwändig ist winzigen Abstände mit der Hand einzustellen, gibt es Geräte die dies automatisiert erledigen. Das Objekt oder die Kamera wird in winzigen Schritten entfernt oder heran geführt und jeweils ein Bild ausgelöst. Eine Stacking-Software wie Helicon-Focus oder CombineZM übernimmt später das Zusammenrechnen der Bilder. Diese Anleitung soll einen kostengünstigen Zugang zu dieser Technik ermöglichen.
