Min­er­al por­trait olivine (ger­man)Olivine is not a separate mineral, but a member belonging to the forsterite-fayalite mixing series. Olivine belongs to the olivin-groupe whose end-members are calcio-olivine and tephroite. Forsterite is a magnesium silicate; fayalite an iron silicate. If commonly is spoken of olivine, it is usually a more or less iron-rich forsterite. The color of olivine is generally yellowish green, olive green to black. Min­er­al Days in Mu­nich 2012 or „The Mu­nich Show“For the 49th year once again the Munich Mineral Show was held. A few years ago under the old leadership the motto almost entirely stood under the theme of minerals and fossils. This year not only the name seems to change away from the "Munich Mineral Show" changing to "The Munich Show". The new exhibition management, led by the young Mr. Keilmann seems not quite knowing where to go or has something bigger in mind. One can imagine something in "Munich Mineral Days", it is difficult in the name "The Munich Show". Bryce Cany­on Na­tio­n­al ParkEmerged as a product of erosion from water, frost and wind which has shaped the spectacular pillars (hoodoos) the Bryce Canyon National Park is one of the most spectacular natural amphitheater. The eroded Claron limestone in which also fossils are found, leaves the impression of a subtle army from limestone warriors. Named after the Mormon Pioneer Ebenezer Bryce, the natural spectacle was 1928 declared as national park.

Die Uran­lager­stätte im Krunkel­bach­tal bei Menzen­sch­wandDie Uranerzgänge des Krunkelbachtales liegen am Nordhang des Krunkelbaches im Einzugsgebiet des Feldberges, unterhalb des Rabenfelsens in 955 m Höhe. Es handelt sich um die Gänge 1, 2, 12 und 13 sowie den unbauwürdigen Waldschratgang und ein nahe des Mundloches von Stollen II in den 1960-er Jahren erschürftes kupferreiches Gangtrum (Torbernit, Cuprosklodowskit neben Cu-Sulfiden!!!) von Gang 12 (Markl & Wolfsried, 2011). Daneben treten noch unterschiedlich stark erzführende Trümer auf.

Menzenschwand, ist heute ein beschauliches Dorf, das vor allem vom Tourismus lebt und zu St. Blasien gehört. Menzenschwand umfasst das Gebiet von der Menzenschwander Kluse im Süden an der Straße Bernau-St. Blasien über die Höhen zwischen dem Ort und Äule am Schluchsee bis zum Talschluss der Menzenschwander Alb nördlich des Ortes. Not negligible for this reason, the idea or the concept of a twin crystal are often associated with a macroscopic building. Modern studies at the nano scale have shown that the formation of twins can occur at a very early stage of crystal growing.
