The "Eisen­ham­mer" (iron ham­mer) to He­im­buchen­thal The former "Eisenhammer" (iron hammer) to Heimbuchenthal has to show a very interesting history. The hammer mill established at the beginning of the 18th century reached at the end of the 18th century in the possession of the family Rexroth under whose guidance the company came to the full blossom. The squires showed a high social engagement which was reflected in the reimbursement of the workers, but also in the enlargement of the entrance ways. In specially constructed schools up to 30 children were teaches on the hammer mill property. On one, from oaks surrounded cemetery the late squires and their members were buried. In 1891 the company was discontinued and the hammer mill was converted into a court estate. From the industrial monument all buildings except the great smithy are even today in a very good state.

Kün­stliche Kris­talle - SpinellSpinellsynthesen finden sich im Handel als komplette Schmelzbirnen, die ab und an einen annähernd quadratischen, aber abgerundeten Querschnitt besitzen. In der Nähe des Keimes finden sich selten abgerundete Oktaederflächen.

Im Gegensatz dazu sind Korundbirnen in der Regel der Länge nach gespalten, um die inneren Spannungen im Kristall zu lösen. Die Felsen­wege von St. Ar­nu­al bei Saar­brück­enIm Saarland ist der in Oberer, Mittlerer und Unterer Teil geteilte Buntsandstein, der frühesten Abteilung der Trias, nur mit den beiden jüngeren Stufen vertreten. Der Untere Buntsandstein ist nicht zu finden. In St. Arnual, am Ostabhang des Sonnenberges bei Saarbrücken, sind diese beiden Altersstufen eindrucksvoll aufgeschlossen. Folgt man den sogenannten Felsenwegen entlang der Saar, so erkennt man das Profil, einschließlich der Violetten Grenzzone, die die Trennung vom Mittleren zum Oberen Buntsandstein darstellt.

San Ti­m­o­teo Mine at La Union min­ing area, Mur­cia, SpanienGypsum needels and blue Baryte have made this mine known for mineral collectors. A recent report from Sept. 2012 shows that good finds are still possible. To visit this mine is relatively easy. The evacuation of the gypsum needels on the other hand is more difficult. Min­er­alien­por­trait Spha­ler­itDer Name des Minerals stammt vom griechischen sphaleros. Dieses bedeutet trügerisch, weil aus der zusammen mit Bleiglanz gefundenen Zinkblende kein Blei gewonnen werden konnte und das Element Zink noch nicht entdeckt war. Blende war die Bergmannsbezeichnung für taubes Erz. Sphalerit ist das wichtigste Zinkerz, aus welchem neben dem Metall Zink auch Cadmium, Indium und ....

Sphalerit gehört zum kubischen Kristallsystem und zur hexakistetraedrischen Klasse. Die Struktur der Kristalle ist ähnlich der Diamantstruktur, wobei, anders als bei Diamant, um jedes S-Ion an den Tetraederecken vier Zinkionen angeordnet sind. Im Gegensatz zu Diamant verläuft die Spaltbarkeit in den Sphaleritkristallen nicht nach den Flächen des Oktaeders, sondern nach den Flächen des Rhombendodekaeders {110}, da diese Gitterebenen gleichviel Zn- und ...
