We operate a significant database for minerals, fossils, rocks and their localities. Mineralienatlas is not limited to a section. We bring together information and inform comprehensive.

San Ti­m­o­teo Mine at La Union min­ing area, Mur­cia, SpanienGypsum needels and blue Baryte have made this mine known for mineral collectors. A recent report from Sept. 2012 shows that good finds are still possible. To visit this mine is relatively easy. The evacuation of the gypsum needels on the other hand is more difficult. Grube Kit­ten­rain (Schön­fär­biges Berg­w­erk)1496 verleiht Herzog Albrecht IV. Bergfreiheit an Jörg Valldrer, der den heute noch existierenden „Silberschacht“ anfängt. Die Aufschlüsse in dem Schacht waren extrem metallarm und daher Einstellung der Tätigkeiten. Um 1700 bereits der erste Flußspatabbau. Die „Smaragde“ von Bach (und von Donaustauf) machten Schlagzeilen. 1702 Probeschürfe auf den Gang auf Eisen und Silber. 1703 legten erfahrene Bergleute aus Bodenwöhr und vom Rauschenberg das Schönfärbige Bergwerk mit dem "St. Barbarastollen" und dem "Dreifaltigkeitsstollen am Sandspach" (Länge 38,9 m) an, ohne jedoch auf Metallerze zu stoßen. 1704 nach Einmarsch kaiserlicher Truppen brachte diesen staatlichen Bergbau zum Erliegen... Die Sockel, die sich üblicherweise auf dem Markt befinden (Mineralienbörsen oder div. Zubehörgeschäfte im Internet), sind praktisch immer aus Plexiglas hergestellt. Die Preise variieren von Anbieter zu Anbieter.

REE belong to the most important raw materials of the 21st century, which are used in a large number of key technologies. However, due to the fact that almost 97% of the world's REE are mined and produced in China, REE have become an ongoing political issue, mainly amongst technology providing countries like the US, Japan and Western Europe.

The Mu­nich Mi­cro­moun­ters and their Lithothek„What will be the fate of my collection once I will no longer be able to collect? There are specimens of unique beauty and extreme rarity in the collection, pieces that cannot be replaced since some localities are closed or have been obliterated. All this might be thrown away because not many people realise the value and importance hidden in these little unimpressive boxes”. Many micromounters are worried by these considerations and other factors. “My collection is an important part of my life and of my personality. If my collection dissapears, I too, will cease to exist without trace”. We, the Micromounters of the Münchener Mineralienfreunde, are no exception. Many times the future of our collections was subject of our discussions and conversations. Children and grand children are not always appreciative of their parents’ or grandparents’ passion.

Das Felsen­meer in He­mer, Sauer­landIn der gängigen Literatur wird für das Felsenmeer ein Erz mit einem Hämatitanteil von bis zu 80 % angegeben, was hier seit dem 8. oder 9. Jahrhundert n. Chr. wirtschaftlich genutzt wurde, somit ist das Gebiet derzeit der Älteste bekannte Abbau von Eisenstein in Westfalen. Die Bergleute bedienten sich den natürlichen Hohlräumen, erweiterten sie und nutzten sie als Transportwege. Übertage zeugen auch heute noch Schachtöffnungen, Stollenmundlöcher und Halden vom damaligen Bergbaugeschehen.

Man kann sicherlich einen Gehalt von 70 Massenprozent Eisen als - fuer natuerlich vorkommende Erze unerreichbare - Obergrenze als gegeben ansehen. Dies beantwortet natuerlich nicht die Frage nach dem durchschnittlichen Eisengehalt des Hemeraner Erzes und ersetzt auch keine Analysen.
