Aven­tur­in­glas und Gold­flussAls Mineraliensammler erwartet man das Primat der Natur. Wo sie schon war, muss der Mensch erst hin. Überraschend ist daher die Geschichte des Aventurins – bei dem ein Artefakt das Eponym für Erscheinungen im Mineralreich ist. Der Name Aventurin taucht nämlich zum ersten Mal bei der Schöpfung eines besonderen Glases durch Menschenhand auf.

Die kupferhaltigen Gläser „Rubinglas“, „Goldstein“ und „Purpurin“ bilden ein strukturelles Kontinuum. Die Größe der im Glas enthaltenen Kupferkolloide erzeugt die unterschiedlichen Varietäten: im Rubinglas besteht das Kupfer aus transparenten Nanopartikeln, im Purpurin stellt das Kupfer opake mikroskopische Partikel dar und im „Goldstein“ bildet das Kupfer sichtbare Kristalle. Alle drei Varianten waren im Altertum bekannt: Frühe rote, kupferhaltige Gläser stammen aus dem Industal und besitzen ein Alter von viertausend Jahren und eine Vielzahl von Funden aus Pompeji belegen die Erzeugung und Verwendung durch die Römer. Hu­ber­s­tock (Hubr; Hu­ber open pit; Hub­ský peň)Bei der Fundstelle Huberstock (auch Tagebau Hubr, Steinbruch Hubr) handelt es sich um die Pinge eines im 16. Jh eingestürzten Bergbaus auf Zinn mit den umliegenden Halden (Beran 2006). Diese stammen sowohl aus dem geschichtlichen Bergbau, wie auch aus den Aktivitäten -untertage und übertage- in jüngster Zeit (20. Jh., Einstellung des Betriebs der Stannum 1991, Bergbau auf Wolfram und Zinn).

Auf der Fundstellenseite wird auf einen Beitrag des Förderbvereins der Lithothek verlinkt. Diese haben die Fundstelle in der Lithothek aufgearbeitet.

Min­er­al Por­trait Flu­o­riteThe mineral portrait fluorit is based on the book "SEROKA, P.; 2001: FLUORIT - Daten - Fakten - Weltweite Vorkommen"; a detailed and exhaustive information on the mineral's characteristics, the crystal forms, crystal growth and the different aggregates and pseudomorphoses.

Special chapters deal with the fluorite deposits and global settings, the mining of fluorspar and ore processing; One chapter shows the development of fluorite collecting in the past and now.

The most comprehensive part of the book is dedicated to the mineral's worldwide deposits, describing the best known old, classic and modern occurrences in 96 countries . A great number of mineral and mining photographs accompany each chapter, showing the characteristics of most fluorites from a specific deposit.

REE belong to the most important raw materials of the 21st century, which are used in a large number of key technologies. Stel­ten­bergIm Steinbruch stehen Riffkalke an, die stellenweise dolomitisiert sind. Aber es finden sich Bereiche in denen mergelige und bituminöse Schiefer anstehen, die auf geringe Wasserbewegung hinweisen. Bei angewittertem Gestein lassen sich als Riffbildner Korallen und Stromatoporen erkennen. Die Kalke beinhalten eine reichhaltige Meeresfauna, die typisch für den obergivetischen Massenkalk ist, und durch Uncites gryphus und Stringocephalus burtini als Leitfossilien geprägt sind. The Mu­nich Show 2025The Mineralientage München 2025 – The Munich Show once again showcased a fascinating variety of minerals, fossils, and jewelry. Although visitor numbers appeared slightly lower than last year, the fair remained vibrant and diverse. Highlights included the collector displays and the special exhibition on natural resources, while the fossil section was somewhat smaller.
Some visitors expressed a wish for more seating areas, opportunities for exchange, and more eye-catching advertising, yet overall the event left a very positive impression and remains a must-visit for collectors and families alike.
