Sock­el zur Min­er­alien­präsen­ta­tion aus Plexi­glasZur Präsentation besonders schöner Mineralienstufen werden gerne Stufen auf transparente Sockel aus Kunststoff in die Vitrine gestellt. Die Sockel, die sich üblicherweise auf dem Markt befinden (Mineralienbörsen oder div. Zubehörgeschäfte im Internet), sind praktisch immer aus Plexiglas hergestellt. Die Preise variieren von Anbieter zu Anbieter.

In der folgenden Anleitung soll gezeigt werden, dass man aus geschnittenen Rohlingen mit einfachen Mitteln solche Sockel selbst hergestellt werden können.

Emeralds, aquamarines, heliodors and morganites were and are used for the manufacture of jewelry because of their beauty. The common beryl is the main source of the metal beryllium; 80 % of beryllium ore is mined in the United States. The largest known crystal reached a length of 18 m.

This lavishly researched and very comprehensive portrait by the author Peter Seroka relates to history, name origin, causes of color, occurrences , paragenesis and the use of this mineral and its varieties. Grube Al­ter Theuer­dank„Es handelt sich um einen einfach gebauten Spaltengang von durchschnittlich 0,2-0,6 m Mächtigkeit mit deutlich ausgebildeten Salbändern. Begleitet wird der Hauptgang von einigen ins Liegende ablaufende, bogenförmige Nebentrümer, auf denen u.a. die Grube Alter Theuerdank gebaut hat. Über Tage ist der Ausbiss an Pingen und Schürflöchern gut zu erkennen. Wie Harnischflächen belegen, stellt der Reiche Troster Gang eine Abschiebung dar, wobei die hangende Scholle mit einem Versatzbetrag von wenigen Metern abgesunken ist. Er kann als eine diagonale Verbindung ("Diagonaltrum") zwischen dem Wennsglücker Gang im Norden und dem St. Jacobsglücker Gang im Süden aufgefasst werden.... Min­er­al Por­trait PyriteThe term used in the plural "pyrites" has often been misused in the past or in common for marcasite, chalcopyrite, pyrrhotite and other yellow to brass-colored minerals. The word pyrite is derived from the Greek "pyrites lithos" (derived pyr = fire and lithos = stone) and describes a characteristic of the mineral, when rubbing against steel or flint (flint) to generate sparks. In prehistoric tombs pyrite concretions and unrolled pyrite where found, which supposed to be used for lighting a fire. (Article in German)

Grube Er­na im Wölsen­dor­fer Re­vi­er... 1922 erwerben die "Süddeutsche Flußspatwerke GmbH", Nabburg das Ausbeuterecht der PlanNr. 706 vom Bauer Xaver Wilhelm in Stulln und suchen hier nach Flußspat unter Grube Stullner Berg II. Dies war der Ansatz für die Entwicklung des Bergbaus auf dem später so genannten Erna-Gang.
1929 kommen die "Süddeutsche Flußspatwerke GmbH", Nabburg infolge der schlechten Absatzlage in Zahlungsschwierigkeiten, der Betrieb wird stillgelegt und Konkurs angemeldet.
1933 erwirbt Eduard Montag, der letzte Betriebsleiter der Süddeutschen Flußspatwerke, aus der Konkursmasse von die Firma "Süddeutschen Flußspatwerke GmbH" den Untersuchungsbetrieb auf PlanNr. 706. Eduard Montag kauft einen 25 PS Dieselmotor und einen Kompressor und teuft einen Schacht bis auf 70 m ab und beginnt mit der Flußspatförderung. Die Grube bekam den Namen seiner Frau "Erna".
1934 errichtet Montag auch eine Flußspatwäsche ... Ein Beitrag von Michael Kommer

In­clu­sionsInclusions are inside the crystal enclosed foreign materials like liquids, gases, hydrocarbons (oil, asphalt), sediment, NaCl, as well as other minerals or crystals. Inclusions can be a sort of fingerprint of the place of dicovery. Thus inclusions show us under which geologic conditions minerals had formed. This allows conclusions on the place of discovery.

The article deals with the different kinds of inclusions, her conditions of build, which minerals do often have inclusions and how they appear.
