The "Eisen­ham­mer" (iron ham­mer) to He­im­buchen­thal The former "Eisenhammer" (iron hammer) to Heimbuchenthal has to show a very interesting history. The hammer mill established at the beginning of the 18th century reached at the end of the 18th century in the possession of the family Rexroth under whose guidance the company came to the full blossom. The squires showed a high social engagement which was reflected in the reimbursement of the workers, but also in the enlargement of the entrance ways. In specially constructed schools up to 30 children were teaches on the hammer mill property. On one, from oaks surrounded cemetery the late squires and their members were buried. In 1891 the company was discontinued and the hammer mill was converted into a court estate. From the industrial monument all buildings except the great smithy are even today in a very good state.

Min­er­al Por­trait - REE - Rare Earth El­e­mentsThis is the most comprehensive synopsis related to the history, the mineralogy, the exploitation and the most actual economic and political resumé on rare earth elements and their minerals to be found in the internet. REE belong to the most important raw materials of the 21st century, which are used in a large number of key technologies. However, due to the fact that almost 97% of the world's REE are mined and produced in China, REE have become an ongoing political issue, mainly amongst technology providing countries like the US, Japan and Western Europe.

Skarn ist ein alter schwedischer Bergbaubegriff, welcher ursprünglich benutzt wurde, um jede Art silikatischer Ganggesteine oder tauber Gesteine zu beschreiben, welche mit eisenhaltigen sulfidischen Lagerstätten assoziiert waren, welche stellenweise paläoproterozoische Kalksteine im schwedischen Bergbaurevier Peterberg ersetzten. Im modernen Sprachgebrauch bedeutet Skarn Calcium-haltige Silikate jeglichen Alters. Skarne oder "Erlane" sind Gesteine, die bei der Metasomatose aus Kalk- oder Dolomitgesteinen durch Reaktion der Carbonatmineralien mit SiO2 bzw. am magmatischen Intrusivkontakt entstehen. Sil­ver - min­er­al­o­gy, min­ing and his­to­rySilver and silver minerals are amongst the most desirabe objects since the beginning of mineral collecting. Silver wires and curls from Kongsberg and Freiberg are the coronation of each mineral collection. Beautiful pyrargyrites and proustites enhance each collector's heatbeat.

However, silver is not only the essence of high-end collecting but has contributed essentially to the history of mankind. Uncountable remain the millions of greek and phenician slaves, middle age european miners and millions of indios who have left their lives for silver.

Silver is one of the seven metals known since thousands of years, already been mentioned in the bible. Mountains of slag in Asia Minor, Arabia and on the agaen islands prove technologies to produce silver from lead ore; knowledges people had been acquainted with since at least 4.000 year B.C. Since the antiquity silver had been used to make finery and ornaments, however, most of this metal was used to stamp coins. The monetary system of many countries was based on silver; the one, who owned silver, was able to finance wars. One of the main pillars of power of Athens, Rome, the Phenicians, the church, the kings and queens of Castilia, the Austrian house of Habsburg and, last not least, of the Americans had been their control over the richest silver mines and the wars, which they made by paying their soldiery with silver coins.

Thus from about 1240, the tin deposits (with the beginnings of subsurface mining also silver) around Ehrenfriedersdorf was mined. By finding rich silver adits in the 2nd third of the 15th Century the great mountain towns like Schneeberg (municipal law since 1477) and Annaberg (municipal law since 1496) was founded. Basalt­säulen... Basaltsäulen sind erkaltete und erstarrte basaltische Lava. Die Erscheinungsform dieser erkalteten basaltischen Lava ist hauptsächlich von zwei Faktoren abhängig. Eruptierte Lava kühlt recht schnell aus zu einem zusammenhängenden Gesteinsgefüge, das je nach Temperatur und Gasgehalt als Pahoehoe-Lava oder als Aa-Lava erstarrt. Gewöhnlich folgte dem Aussterben eine vermehrte Ausbreitung der überlebenden Arten, zurückzuführen auf das Ausfallen von Konkurrenten im selben Lebensraum. Unterschieden wird zwischen Faunenschnitten, in denen viele Tierarten ausstarben und Florenschnitten, in denen viele Pflanzenarten verschwanden und durch neue ersetzt wurden. Belege dieses Massenaussterbens sind die heute gefundenen Fossilien.
