Min­er­alien­por­trait Rho­dochrositRhodochrosit dürfte aufgrund seiner auffallend rosaroten Farbe zu den ältesten Schmucksteinen der alten Welt gehören, was u.a. durch archäologische Funde von Grabbeigaben in alten äygpischen Gräbern belegt ist. Ob dieses Mangancarbonat bewusst oder gezielt abgebaut wurde, ist nicht bekannt. Sicher ist jedoch, dass die alten Ägypter Manganerze aus dolomitisierten Kalksteinen in der östlichen Wüste und auf der Halbinsel Sinai abbauten, wo mit Sicherheit auch Rhodochrosit vorkam und als Nebenprodukt zur Schmuckherstellung diente.

Grube Cä­cilia im Wölsen­dor­fer Re­vi­er1936 erwirbt die Firma "Saline Ludwigshalle AG", Bad Wimpfen, die Grube Kallmünzer. Daraufhin wurde der Firmenname ( Besitzer) in "Flußspatwerk Schwarzenfeld GmbH, vorm. Anton Kallmünzer" geändert. Die Flußspatgrube wird von nun an Grube Cäcilia, teils auch Grube Cäcilie, genannt. Anton Kallmünzer bleibt Teilhaber und Geschäftsführer.

Min­er­alien­por­trait Epi­dotDas Mineral Epidot ist vom griechischen Wort "epidosis" abgeleitet, was "Zunahme" oder "Zugabe" bedeutet. Die Deutung als "Zunahme" spielt möglicherweise auf die stengelig zunehmende Kristallform des Minerals an. Die Interpretation als "Zugabe" könnte auf die Tatsache zurückzuführen sein, dass es dem französischen Mineralogen René HAÜY erstmals im Jahre 1801 gelang, die beiden Silikate Turmalin und Epidot eindeutig auseinanderzuhalten und somit den Epidot als eigenständiges Mineral neben Turmalin stellte...
