The metal and its alloys have been used for thousands of years. Copper was first used in coins and ornaments starting about 8000 B.C., and at about 5500 B.C., copper tools helped civilization emerge from the Stone Age. In the Roman era, copper was principally mined on Cyprus, hence the origin of the name of the metal as сyprium (metal of Cyprus), later shortened to сuprum.

The discovery that copper alloyed with tin produces bronze marked the beginning of the Bronze Age at about 3000 B.C.
Copper is easily stretched, molded, and shaped; is resistant to corrosion; and conducts heat and electricity efficiently. As a result, copper was important to early humans and continues to be a material of choice for a variety of domestic, industrial, and high-technology applications today.

Schon die Taurisker und insbesondere die Pisontier, Bewohner des ehemaligen Mittel-Norikum, wussten um die reichern Goldadern und verlegten sich auf die Ausbeutung derselben so wie auf die Goldwäscherei in den Flüssen und Bächen. Die Armuth des Landes machte den Bergbau zu einer ihrer Haupterwerbsquellen. Bei dem Umstande, als viele der Erzgänge edel zu Tage ausbeissen, auch oft blos nur aus einer lehmigen goldhaltigen Masse (Besteg) bestanden, die mit den primitivsten Werkzeugen gewonnen werden konnte, war die Bearbeitung leicht. Inclusions can be a sort of fingerprint of the place of dicovery. Thus inclusions show us under which geologic conditions minerals had formed. This allows conclusions on the place of discovery.

The article deals with the different kinds of inclusions, her conditions of build, which minerals do often have inclusions and how they appear.

The mine complex extends over 21.2 square kilometers and is one of the largest gold deposits in Europe. Grube Al­ter Theuer­dank„Es handelt sich um einen einfach gebauten Spaltengang von durchschnittlich 0,2-0,6 m Mächtigkeit mit deutlich ausgebildeten Salbändern. Begleitet wird der Hauptgang von einigen ins Liegende ablaufende, bogenförmige Nebentrümer, auf denen u.a. die Grube Alter Theuerdank gebaut hat. Über Tage ist der Ausbiss an Pingen und Schürflöchern gut zu erkennen. Wie Harnischflächen belegen, stellt der Reiche Troster Gang eine Abschiebung dar, wobei die hangende Scholle mit einem Versatzbetrag von wenigen Metern abgesunken ist. Er kann als eine diagonale Verbindung ("Diagonaltrum") zwischen dem Wennsglücker Gang im Norden und dem St. Jacobsglücker Gang im Süden aufgefasst werden....
